THE WAY TO HEAVEN

THE WAY TO HEAVEN

Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only few find it.”

The gate and the road to eternal life are small and narrow. That makes it uneasy and difficult. So many choose to pass through the wide gate and the broad way which is easier instead. Unfortunately, those paths lead them to destruction. On the other hand, the few who choose to pass through the small and narrow gate find the way to live though it isn’t easy. According to Luke, Jesus warned His disciples to make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many will try to enter but will not be able. There is no easy way to eternal life. If it was, then the Lord wouldn’t tell His disciples to take the narrow road. Figuratively speaking, the gate is the Lord Jesus Christ, John 10:7. Jesus presented Himself as the gate for the sheep and that any man who does not enter through the gate, but climbs in some other way is a thief and a robber. Jesus said, I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. “He is The Way, The Truth and The Life.”

Many people want to go to heaven. But, they are taking the wrong way. They want the easy road where no commitment is needed. They follow religion and the most rather than following the Lord Jesus Christ. Out of ignorance, they make-believe of themselves to be following the Way but are not. So, what happened in the time of Jesus is all the more happening today. People tend to go where they want without hesitation. They come to realize only when they get in trouble. They called themselves Christian believers for a long time but their lives have not changed. They live compromised lives, where everything is allowed and accepted for them. No distinction between them and the true believers.

Like the disciples, we, who also claim to be His followers must pass through the narrow way for us to be saved. And must be willing to experience difficulties, hardships, pains, bruises, and the likes as if you are passing to a very narrow and small gate. Life’s challenges are what makes victory the sweetest after overcoming. Do not be afraid to take the challenge, though the chances are narrow for you to get there. Better to try than not to try at all. You might be seeing a small gate and a narrow road now, but in the end, it is a beautiful place called HEAVEN!
