UNCOMPROMISED FAITH                                                                                                                                

Daniel 3:17-18 “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

What a display of courage and boldness that comes by faith. This is what I call, UNCOMPROMISED FAITH. It doesn’t waver when pressure arises and is not double-minded. It does not surrender to the threat of the enemy and is determined to be faithful regardless of the consequences. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were pressured to deny God and to worship the idol set up by King Nebuchadnezzar. However, they elected to persist no matter what happened. These three men didn’t yield to what the king has decreed. This made the king flew in rage and so he ordered that they would be thrown into the blazing furnace. Cruelly, he let his resilient soldiers bind and throw them to the fiery furnace which was heated seven times more than the usual that even those soldiers who threw them were killed because of the consuming fire.

As the highest leader in Babylon, King Nebuchadnezzar demands unconditional obedience in all that he commands. Under his power, anyone who does not submit will be punished severely to death.

Every day in our lives, we pass through “blazing furnace”. I defined it as life challenges, such as; sufferings, persecutions, trials, hardships and all struggles. The Lord may not always rescue us from such circumstances, but we should remain faithful whether He intervenes on our behalf or not. We do not have to defend ourselves but to trust God and His mighty power instead. Whatever your situation today, allow God and His Holy Spirit to minister to you. Never to worship the gods of this world. Be willing to give up your life for God rather than to any idol.
